I created HelloPy with one simple goal in mind: to make learning Python easy, fun, and accessible for kids. Technology is such an important part of our world today, but many students — especially younger ones — don't always get the opportunity to explore coding in a way that feels welcoming and exciting. I wanted to change that.
I'm a first-generation college student at Widener University, and HelloPy is my senior capstone project. It represents something very close to my heart. As a first-generation student, education has always meant opportunities to me. This project is more than just a website — it's a way to give back and open doors for others.
HelloPy is designed to introduce beginners to Python step by step, using simple language, interactive activities, and a creative approach to learning. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, students can build confidence as they go — learning not just how to code, but how to think, problem-solve, and create.
I hope HelloPy inspires young learners to see themselves in technology and realize that they are capable of building amazing things. No matter your background, your age, or your experience level — you belong here, and you can do this.
